STATEMENT ON AI

The Lyric celebrates creativity, skillbuilding and skill sharing in our community. We honor human decision making, the presence of the artist’s hand, and the artist’s personal vision. Because of this, most AI generated content is not eligible for Old Rip’s Art Competition. Using AI can be a small step in the making process, like generating an image that is a reference for a painting, or minimally editing a photograph. Conversely, using AI in a highly collaborative way can have value. The Lyric recognizes that AI and Art is a complex grey area that is ever evolving as AI continues to become more enmeshed in daily life. If AI is a part of your process and you are unsure if you qualify, feel free to email lyricartcenter@gmail.com
